I’m a researcher at RISE, division Built Environment, where I lead and participate in interdisciplinary research projects related to the energy transition. I’m interested in the intersection of people, technology and sustainability.
Current research themes include social sustainability in the solar energy sector, households’ energy resilience in crisis and sustainable transition, energy sufficiency as a necessary complement to energy efficiency; and justice perspectives on solar energy.
I have a long experience of qualitative methods and often use interviews, focus groups, or workshops to gain more knowledge about people’s experiences, needs, and use of technology. My background is human-computer interaction and interaction design, and where it is suitable, I also use design methods and design thinking from those fields to understand people’s needs as well as identify future alternative solutions.
I have a PhD in human-computer interaction from Stockholm University (2009), and prior to joining RISE, I was a researcher at Cornell University, USA (2011-2013) and Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden (2013-2017).
