Climate-neutral industry to achieve environmental goals
Swedish industry is facing huge challenges, since its direct climate emissions make up one third of Sweden’s total climate emissions. Especially the processing industry needs a major transformation if Sweden is to achieve its national target of a climate-neutral industrial sector by 2045.
RISE is supporting the processing and manufacturing industries in their transition to becoming resource and energy-efficient and carbon-neutral. We have expertise within renewable and recycled raw materials and fuels, such as renewable electricity, hydrogen, biomass and plastic waste. We are also working on capture, storage and recycling of carbon dioxide and methods for more process-intensive and flexible production. RISE activities cover complete value chains and we offer research and development and demonstrations of both individual system components and process integration, life cycle costing (LCC), analyses of process risks, environmental consequences, sustainability and policy.
