Course temperature

Calibration of temperature measurement systems.

To make accurate temperature measurements, more than just advanced and accurate measuring instruments is needed. It requires both knowledge of the limitations that exist and insight into all the possibilities that the equipment provides. To measure is to know and with the right knowledge you also know what you are measuring!

In the course, we go through how different measurement systems work and which factors must be taken into account in order to measure correctly and choose a suitable calibration method. We focus on the most common sensor types, Pt100 and thermocouples, but other sensor types and non-contact measurement principles are included. We show the most common ways to calibrate sensors/instruments and how to best use different calibration constants according to ITS-90 and IEC/EN 60751.

The course is partly carried out in the form of exercises at the National Laboratory for Temperature at RISE. By mixing theory and practice, you get a deeper understanding of the measurement problems and opportunities to directly apply the newly acquired knowledge. We carry out measurement uncertainty calculations based on the exercises.

Target group

The course is intended for anyone who wants a deeper knowledge in temperature measurements and calibration of temperature measurement systems. It is suitable for people in various business areas, from process and production to laboratory operations and calibration. The course requires no prior knowledge, the most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in learning more about temperature measurements.

The course is given in Swedish and more information about the course is only available in Swedish.
