Contact JosefineClimate variability, urbanization and ageing infrastructure add to other, ever present, challenges of water management. To ensure water resource security, policymakers and practitioners across the public and private sectors need to make informed decisions. We produce relevant decision-support.
The need of investments to ensure water resource security is large. It is hence necessary that decision makers can compare costs, impacts and achievability of a range of different measures and technologies to use water resources more wisely and effectively. By applying decision support methods, structured guidance is provided to enable rational and sustainable investment decisions.
Almost half of the world's population, about 3.6 billion people, lives in areas where water scarcity can occur at least one month a year, a number expected to increase to 4.8 to 5.7 billion people by 2050. The identification and implementation of efficient and water-saving techniques are necessary to ensure water resource security.
We develop and apply tailor-made decision support, based on e.g. cost-benefit, multicriteria and risk analyses, to enable informed decisions regarding our future water supply and water usage.
