TheMRC Coil Coated Materials is dedicated to corrosion of coil-coated materials used in building, automotive and appliance industry.
Coil coating is a continuous, automated process for coating metal before fabrication into end products. For example, iron can be applied to steel and aluminum. In this membership program we focus on corrosion of coil-coated materials used in building, automotive and appliance industry.
R&D projects
Our R&D projects are mainly focused on the following topics:
- Development of accelerated corrosion tests
- Evaluation of anticorrosive pigments
- Functional coatings
- Mechanisms of corrosion of coil-coated products
- Evaluation of long term degradation of coil-coated steel materials exposed in different environmental conditions
Membership
The MRC Coil Coated Materials has 14 member companies including several prominent international steel makers and surface treatment as well as paint suppliers.
The MRC provides a unique platform for regular meetings, exchange of knowledge and experience and discussions. In addition, the committee sponsors several research programs and organize an international seminar every 3:de years.
