The Production Leap's development programme

The Production Leap is a comprehensive national programme that was initiated by Teknikföretagen and IF Metall in 2006. The aim is to increase productivity, competitiveness and development ability in Swedish industry and thereby strengthen the conditions for profitable production in Sweden.

The Production Leap offers companies programmes that develop companies' own ability to improve their competitiveness. We apply principles based on Lean, but the starting point is the companies' own strengths and values. Although the Production Leap has been developed based on the needs and opportunities of the manufacturing industry, other companies can also apply the same principles with great success.

Seven principles of the Production Leap

We offer companies a development programme of 18 months, a programme that develops companies' own inherent ability to innovate and improve their competitiveness. The work according to our method is based on the following seven principles:

1. Help to self-help – we challenge and together we build competence and driving force 
2. Long-term thinking – lasting ability to change and improve
3. Diversity is an asset – respect for everyone, consensus, participation and anchoring
4. Openness and exchange of experience – we share what we learn and learn from others
5. A common way of working – we know that we achieve results when we follow our method and we constantly improve it
6. Learn by doing – some theory, lots of practice and experimentation
7. Live as we learn – we apply what we teach

The development programme is open to all types of companies, but has its foundation in the manufacturing industry.
