Additive Manufacturing

3D-printing for the next generation of product and production solution

3D-Action's goal was to raise awareness and increase knowledge about additive manufacturing and its benefits among small and medium-sized enterprises in Västra Götaland.

The 3D-Action project concluded in 2023, but efforts to promote accessibility to additive manufacturing have continued through 3D-Action 2.0, launched in 2024.

Good examples from participating companies

Here are two companies sharing their experiences with additive manufacturing, both opportunities and challenges:

3D Printing unlocks new opportunities for Totech
How additive manufacturing transformed Nordholms

During the winter of 2021-2022, 3D-Action also arranged three digital breakfast seminars on the theme "Discover the possibilities with additive manufacturing".

Funding

The 3D-Action project was funded by Tillväxtverket (TVV) via REACT-EU and the European Regional Development Fund, and Västra Götaland region (VGR).

Connected to AM Center

Both 3D-Action and 3D-Action 2.0 operate as independent projects but are linked to the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing (AM Center) through shared infrastructure and personnel. This ensures a strong and sustainable support to small and medium-sized enterprises in the Västra Götaland region, where research results are shared and directly disseminated to different sectors and organizations. In addition, this setup creates a co-creation environment by connecting the members of the Application Center of Additive Manufacturing to various small and medium-sized enterprises.
