Objective: The main objective of this project is to thoroughly examine the longevity and adhesion properties of various sealants under cyclic aging, especially their performance in relation to other materials such as wood, plastic, and galvanized steel. By using a range of commercial sealing products and carefully examining their physical and mechanical properties, the project will identify the most promising products for further testing under simulated environmental conditions such as UV light, water exposure, cold, and heat. The primary goal is to improve the maintenance interval for low and medium voltage poles in electrical distribution systems by providing guidance on the selection of optimal sealing materials and contributing to the development of reliable testing methods for future material selection processes. By offering practical recommendations and establishing robust testing methods, the project aims to ensure the long-term effectiveness and reliability of sealants in electrical distribution infrastructure.
