Bostadsläget Sweden: Housing for a resource-efficient everyday life

Energy crisis, climate crisis, economic crisis means that households and social planners have to make more conscious sustainable choices.

Housing and passenger transport make up a large part of society's energy use, climate impact and economy. It requires conscious choices from both housing seekers and community planners.

The web platform Bostadsläget (bostadslaget.com) makes it possible for housing seekers to find neighborhoods throughout Sweden that have sought-after qualities – where they want to live. At the same time, they can see their everyday energy use, energy costs, climate impact, housing and transport costs – where they can live.

The housing situation also allows community planners to analyze neighborhoods and new housing projects. The balance between qualities and costs in different districts is visualized. The platform calculates everyday energy use, energy costs, carbon emissions, housing prices and transport costs for new plans and regional comparisons.

The housing situation is in 2023 in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uppsala and with this project will be nationwide.
