CARGOSAFE

CARGOSAFE is a project funded by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA). The purpose is to investigate cost-effective technical solutions that reduce the risk of fires on containerships and to suggest recommendations for decision-making based on the results.

CARGOSAFE is implemented by a consortium coordinated by the Danish Fire and Safety Institute (DBI). RISE participates together with the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense Maritime Technology (OMT) and the classification society Bureau Veritas (BV) as partners.

The project follows the structure of a formal safety assessment (FSA) with guidelines from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in Circular MSC-MEPC.2/Circ.12/Rev.2.
