The starting point is case studies in four municipalities, with a focus on collaboration terms or other agreements between stakeholders that may be needed to clarify responsibility and financing for facilities and operation.
Implementing measures to manage stormwater and cloudbursts, especially in existing built environment, often fails as a result of overly complicated regulations, responsibilities and financing models.
Achieving effective collaboration between the municipality, Waste water companies and property owners in the implementation of sustainable measures has proven challenging.
The project aims to test, evaluate and describe different cooperation models for stormwater management and cloudbursts measures. The models will describe how for example, costs and responsibilities can be distributed, but also how long-term operation and care must be ensured.
The project will result in guidance for municipal or private actors when in need of collaboration with climate adaptation measures regarding establishment and maintenance of measures for stormwater and cloudbursts.
The project is financed by Svenskt Vatten.
