Digitally enhanced learning

Digital pedagogy - skills supply in the Swedish industry

The project is a feasibility study that focuses on method development, pedagogy for best learning and opportunities for scalable and digitally enhanced learning. The target group in the first phase is production staff in the Swedish industry. General learning with the same conditions is studied as well.

The Swedish industry is in the middle of a wave of change with extensive impact. Traditional industries are changing in the footsteps of digitalisation, electrification and other global development, and completely new industries such as battery manufacturing are establishing in Sweden. There is currently a lack of education and learning initiatives that both in content and format for the needs that exist, and which are not designed for an academic level.

The manufacturing industry, like so many other actors in society, is facing great pressure for change and the need for skills development is huge. The purpose of this project is to explore the conditions, opportunities and parameters needed to be in place related to competence development. The aim is to take advantage of existing opportunities and handle the challenges in a proactive way, with an even greater degree of knowledge and involvement in change for all employees. Shift work, training facilities, varying opportunities for further education and other things affect this target group's conditions and needs for learning, which is what the feasibility study is primarily aimed at. However, many of these parameters are shared with many other target groups

This feasibility study consists of an exploratory part with acquired knowledge, empirical data and research in the field of pedagogy and professional learning, as well as prototyping parts in collaboration with other actors such as Produktionslyftet, IF Metall, Teknikföretagen, Skärteknikcentrum Sverige, Göteborgs Tekniska College and Encell (Center for Lifelong Learning at Jönköping University). The feasibility study aims to compile a research overview and recommendations, as well as provide a basis for larger pilots for  future implementation.
