Contact SandraIn HUMAI - Test and demonstration of HUMan-centered AI, we want to show how human-centered design and generative AI can be combined in a manufacturing context. This will reduce time-to-market and lower the threshold so that other companies will start working with AI and big data in their daily activities.
In Sweden only 13% of companies have implemented AI and only 25% have implemented big data in their operations. National Gummi AB is a medium-sized company that manufactures rubber products. They want to radically reduce their waste levels and at the same time increase the engagement of their operators.
HUMAI, wants to improve the efficiency of operations in Swedish industry by
1) simplifying the communication of complex production processes through normative AI-based process analysis,
2) increased operator engagement through interaction with generative AI.
The technical solution is divided into two parts: AI-based prescriptive process analysis and Error reporting and support through generative AI.
Impact goals
The impact goals are reduced rubber scrap by 25-40% (approx. SEK 1.25-2 million), reduced sick leave by 50%, 30 new proposals from continuous improvements and to implement 15 proposals from operators/staff.
Vision and Agenda2030
HUMAI will increase the general knowledge so that Sweden can reach its digitization goals (including the 75% objective for companies to use AI). THe Agenda 2030-goals which are in focus are 12, Sustainable consumption and production and 5, Gender equality.
Inclusion and equity
There are two sub-goals that are of particular interest to HUMAI: 5.5 - Ensure the full participation of women in leadership and decision-making and 5b - Empower women through technology. HUMAI believes that this can be supported with the help of digitalization and that the implementation work can strongly support the development of having an inclusive way of working for women, but also for other minorities. By having an inclusive culture at its core, several innovative solutions can be developed and fault outcomes in production can be found faster.
Having a gender equality policy and working for a diverse team is one of the prerequisites for creating innovative solutions.
Part of this is also the work on continuous improvement. The results will then benefit all genders and take minorities into account.
