Innovations based on new materials are key success factors for Swedish industry. In order to increase the use of the manufacturing expertise and equipment in Swedish test beds, sensor-equipped and digitally visualised experiments in stamping and composite forming will be developed and used for training, life-long learning and interactive customer assignments.
The test bed LIGHTest, through prototype manufacturing and testing, will also support the innovation contest that initiates the 2019 “Year of Materials”, where "The Perfect Bike Pack Solution" will be developed.
Development of connected experiments and tests will be performed at the test bed nodes in Piteå and Olofström, in collaboration with suppliers of sensors and IT solutions.
Connected experiments are developed that can be used in the Metals Forming and Welding Master's Course at Chalmers. In 2019, selected proposals for the Innovation Competition will be supported by prototype fabrication, testing and evaluation with respect to sustainability.
Technology dissemination will be performed through demonstrations of connected nodes as well as via movies, demo events and seminars linked to the competition.
