Patterns for architecture and business model for mobility SoS

Tomorrow's mobility and transport system will require increased collaboration between independent actors. MAUS will develop patterns and principles for how to design such systems of systems(SoS) to increase transport efficiency and minimize unwanted side effects.

Urban mobility and transportation are being transformed rapidly. New services and modes of transportation appear. However, there is a lack in coordination and collaboration between different actors. This leads to inefficiencies in the transport system and to increased environmental impacts as well as congestion.

Systems of systems are a way of facilitating such collaboration. Given the transport needs, available transport capabilities, and the current traffic situation, there is a need to create a constellation of independent systems that solve the transport needs while fulfilling all the constraints.

MAUS develops patterns and principles for the design of such system of systems solutions, laying the foundation for commercial actors to develop products. MAUS will reach TRL 4 at the end of the project.

The project will move beyond centralized systems of systems and study how the transition to decentralized SoS can be facilitated.
