The Feeling Evoked by Lighting

Lighting not only affects our vision and work environment but also our emotions and performance. In this project, we explore how different types of lighting evoke different feelings in people, with the aim of improving both work performance and well-being.

Lighting has a profound impact on our emotions and decisions, both at conscious and subconscious levels. Traditional measurement methods are not sufficient to fully understand how we experience different light environments. Creating lighting that evokes desirable feelings is crucial for promoting productivity and well-being in the workplace, which in turn is beneficial for producers, users, and property owners. Although research has shown that LED lighting can affect our alertness cycle and feelings of tiredness or alertness, further studies are needed to understand what other emotions lighting can evoke. This project focuses on exploring the connection between emotions and lighting in office environments, with the goal of improving understanding of how light affects our well-being and work performance.
