AI transformation
How do we work effectively with AI? In a changing world at an institute that conducts first-class research on AI, it is relevant to use AI in our own ways of working. We are therefore working to make our own processes more efficient while setting an example for other organisations.
The quality and possibilities for the use of applied artificial intelligence are currently accelerating. This includes generative AI, image analysis, data analysis and other applications.
The goal is to introduce, utilise and establish AI as a tool and method in all our business areas to streamline and improve our processes.
We work on transformation in three main ways:
There is direct value in improving our own ways of working, and great indirect value in pioneering industry. Many of our testbeds, test environments and pilot facilities operate in the same way as industry facilities. Our test beds can be utilised not only as facilities for testing, but also to demonstrate the digital solutions of the future.
We work to establish robust solutions for applied artificial intelligence in RISE activities. This also means listening to the ongoing trends in large-scale language models and generative AI, and establishing safe and ethically ways of working with these methods. Here, we at the Centre for AI have come a long way and can therefore offer support learned from an expert and user perspective on chatbots. That is, we can describe in depth how the models work technically, but also how they should be used in daily work.
Society and industry are undergoing an AI transformation. As a research institute, it is our task to be at the forefront of and monitor this development.

The "AI for all" training programme raises awareness of chatbots
Recent developments in generative AI have provided tools that are accessible to anyone with a computer. We explore the implications of this and introduce organisations to how they can approach chatbots and other similar tools, through the 'AI for all' training initiative. Issues of research ethics, security and credibility must be taken into account when there are doubts about who actually wrote a text.

AI can be a tool in certification processes
In RISE certification processes, we see a value in using large language models. In collaboration with AI experts at RISE, suitable methods can be identified and refined. It is important to find effective methods that are also stable and secure. The value of using AI is to get an equivalent or better result, but with fewer resources. In addition, certification authority can be relieved and have more time for personal customer dialogue and increased customer value.
