Swedish Assembly Award

The Swedish Assembly Award is awarded annually to a person or group of a maximum of 4 people who have contributed to the development of the assembly area.

Nominate for the Swedish Assembly Award!

Background to the price

The award aims to highlight that development in the field of assembly is of great importance for the competitiveness of Swedish industry. Accelerated globalisation, supported by the rapid development of information technology, is leading to increasingly intense competition between companies with the same product, but in different countries or continents.

Please submit nominations for the Assembly Award 2025 no later than January 17, 2025 – for the award ceremony at the Assembly Conference on March 12, 2025.

The Prize

The prize consists of a specially developed glass sculpture by the artist Ebba von Wachenfeldt and a prize sum of SEK 10,000.
The prize is awarded to a person or group of people who have contributed to the development of the assembly area. The award aims to highlight that development in the field of assembly is of great importance for the competitiveness of Swedish industry.

Participant categories and winning criteria

The prize is awarded to a person or a group of persons (i.e. not a company or other legal entity) who has developed an organisation, product, system, technology, method, tool or any other form of aid, which constitutes an industrial example and thus contributes to development in the field of assembly. "Product" above refers to product design with respect to the product's intrinsic, rational assembly.

Competition entry

Everyone is welcome to nominate competition entries, including their own entry. The grant must be described in words and pictures and with a justification for why the grant should be rewarded. New for this year is the nomination template (see link below) where the first page is mandatory. The competition entry should be sent to: Björn Backman (bjorn.backman@ri.se).

Jury and motivation

The jury includes members of the Swedish Assembly Forum's council. If necessary, external expertise is selected. Representatives of sponsors and other stakeholders may be included. The jury is appointed by the Swedish Assembly Forum's council.
The justification will be individually designed and substantive, e.g.: NN has developed a ... that significantly increases/decreases ... for... type of assembly. In its work, NN has combined proven solutions with bold innovative thinking and systematically evaluated the results. Wide application of NNs... will contribute to.... in Swedish industry.

Award ceremony

The award is presented at the "Assembly Conference of the Year". In addition to the award ceremony, the competition entry will be a program item at the conference.
