Heat resuse from high density cluster for AI-interference in 6G

The project goal is to conduct a techno-economic pre-study involving the Swedish cleantech
industry. The focus is on identifying potential excess heat reuse applications that can be practically
implemented in global 6G cloud edge networks.

The primary deliverable will be a comprehensive report covering all feasible technologies with year-round global operations. The evaluation will consider both economic and technological feasibility.

With the support of international companies such as Google, Vertiv, and BP Castrol, RISE will perform this pre-study. The project will establish requirements, design principles, and necessary technology components. Additionally, it will create blueprints for a few experiments exploring innovative heat reuse concepts from high-density edge nodes, thereby enhancing sustainability.

The deliverable will include detailed descriptions of selected proof-of-concept test rigs, focusing on the
technology’s integration with high-density compute nodes. The intention is to rigorously test and evaluate the performance of the integrated solution.

The final deliverable will be a technical report proposing concept solutions that justify investments and reduce the environmental footprint for data center operators. The report will emphasize the feasibility of the proof-of-concept (POC) solutions and their readiness levels. Additionally, the report will include blueprints for potential proof-of-concept implementations.
