Day 2- June 12th

"An experimental investigation on the impact of burner location on the characteristics of Externally Venting Flames" - Dr. Dionysios Kolaitis

Dr. Dionysios Kolaitis is an Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. He received his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (1999) and his Ph.D. (2005) from NTUA. His current research interests are fire initiation, spreading and suppression in indoor and outdoor environments, fire behaviour of construction products, innovative combustion technologies and energy utilization efficiency in residential and industrial buildings. He has more than 100 publications in international scientific journals and conferences and he has participated in more than 30 research projects. He is actively contributing in teaching under-graduate and post-graduate courses at the School of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA, in the areas of “Fire Engineering”, “Combustion”, “Transport Phenomena”, “Numerical Simulations” and “Building Energy Systems”. He is the Technical Manager of NTUA’s Fire Engineering Unit, which is the only accredited and notified laboratory in Greece that performs “reaction to fire” tests according to EN 13501-1.
