RISE Computer Science Open House 2025
Join us on April 10 for a day filled with insights, inspiration, and innovation! Together with leading experts, we will explore how computer science and AI are driving groundbreaking advancements and shaping the future. The event will be held in English.
From the deep sea to outer space, the research at RISE's Department of Computer Science is at the forefront, spanning a wide range of topics. The goal is to develop AI and the digital infrastructure for society today and in the future.
Who should attend?
For those working with new technology and technological development, this event is the perfect opportunity to gain new ideas and be inspired by the latest technology.
What to expect:
- Network and exchange ideas with experts in AI, cybersecurity, data centers, space technology, and much more.
- Interesting keynotes.
- Explore over 90 research projects in our poster and demo session, a long-standing tradition at RISE's Department of Computer Science.
- Be inspired by our AI presentations – and meet some of our AI researchers behind them.
Keynotes:
To the Stars: AI in Space – Fireside Chat with Marcus Wandt
Join us on a journey into the future and out into space during an inspiring fire side chat with Marcus Wandt, astronaut and Chief Innovation Officer at SAAB, and Tobias Edman, unit manager at RISE. They will discuss the possibilities when space technology and AI meet and how the rapid technological development in both areas can create entirely new opportunities that may be difficult to imagine.
Intelligence is Corporeal
Kristina Höök, researcher KTH. Intelligence is corporeal – our choices are grounded in what is good for us (food! sex!) and what repels us (harm! death!). Today’s AI exists mainly in the language realms, but what happens when AI starts interacting with our bodies? How can we design with and for our intelligent bodies? I will discuss meaning-making, aesthetics, ethics with embodied AI.
The Evolving Data Centre Power: Cooling, and Sustainable Infrastructure for the Future
Jon Summers, lead researcher in data centers at RISE, will talk about the data centers of the future and their crucial role in the digital infrastructure. The lecture explores how data centers handle increasing energy demands, cooling challenges, and sustainability requirements through innovative energy solutions and advanced cooling technology. The focus is on improving efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and adapting the infrastructure for the digital ecosystem of the future.
