Asreen Rostami is a senior researcher in Technologies for Interaction which is part of Prototyping Societies department at RISE division of Digital Systems.
Asreen holds a Ph.D. in Information Society in the area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) from Stockholm University (2020). Her doctoral research was focused on the incorporation of interactive technologies in designing and experiencing interactive and XR experiences. After her PhD, Asreen joined RISE Cybersecurity as an ERCIM postdoctoral fellow, where her research was focused on “humanising” Internet of Things (IoT) security. She then received a Digital Futures' postdoctoral fellowship to conducts research on the topic of gender inclusive cybersecurity , in collaboration between STIR group at Stockholm University, and RISE.
Currently, and in addition to investigating different applications of XR and VR (including ethics of XR), Asreen leads the Human-Cantered Cybersecurity research focus at RISE. This research initiative is centred around bringing together the social, design and technical competences in cybersecurity to establish the leading Nordic research group in Human-Cantered Cybersecurity. Her research is published in several human-computer interaction venues, and includes an ACM honourable mention award from IMX conference.
