Hadi Farabi Asl

Hadi is a researcher in energy systems analysis. He moved to Sweden as a postdoc at Chalmers in 2022 after eight years of studying, teaching, and researching at Japanese universities and research institutes. His career at RISE started in November 2024.

Hadi has explored multiple facets of the energy system throughout his academic journey, including building heating and cooling, solar, wind, geothermal, hydrogen, CCS, and electricity markets. His primary research methods are least-cost optimization with a whole-system approach and techno-economic assessment. Recently, he has focused more on examining the effect of various policies and applications of hydrogen and alternative fuels on decarbonizing the transport sector, mainly in maritime and road freight transport.
