Johan Arnqvist
Johan Arnqvist is a researcher in the Renewable Energy Systems Unit at RISE. He took is PhD in 2015 with a thesis on wind and turbulence conditions over forested areas. His current research revolves around meteorological aspects on wind energy in the Nordics, such as wind and turbulence over forests, wind turbine icing, wind conditions over the Baltic Sea, the combination of wind and solar power, sound propagation within the atmospheric boundary layer as well as forecasts for weather dependent electricity systems.
Analysis of measurements have been a central theme in his research. Several earlier projects have developed and validated models for wind and turbulence based on key physical processes identified with different types of observations. Other than his research at RISE he is working at Uppsala University with development of measurement technique and PhD supervision within his field.
