Jost Ruwoldt's background includes waxes and asphaltenes in petroleum production, colloidal science, bioconversion, biomass derived chemicals, and related technologies.
He obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering (2018) from NTNU with the PhD thesis titled "Inhibitor-Wax Interactions and Wax Crystallization: New Experimental Approaches and Techniques". Before joining Ugelstad Laboratory, he graduated with an M.Sc. in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering (2015) and a B.Sc. in General Engineering Science (2013) both from Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Germany. During his Master Thesis, he studied liquefaction via hydrocracking of coal obtained from hydrothermal carbonization of biomass.
