I am a senior researcher with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, obtained in 2018. My Ph.D. included a period as a visiting researcher at North Carolina State University, USA. Currently, I lead national and international projects at RISE, where I lead teams of over 15 researchers and students, and manage project budgets exceeding 1 MEUR.
My expertise centers on digitization and automation across various transport sectors, with a current focus on railways and mobile machinery. Additionally, I have designed and evaluated Unmanned Aerial Systems for maritime applications [1]. My research primarily explores the development of innovative concepts like Virtually Coupled Train Sets [2, 3] and autonomous forestry machinery [4], emphasizing safety and cybersecurity. This work spans development, verification, and validation methodologies, alongside the application of relevant regulations and standards [5]. I mainly perform applied research in close cooperation with large enterprises.
I am also an innovator in technology prototyping and the creator of the WayWise [6] rapid prototyping library for connected, autonomous vehicles, developed to enhance RISE's Dependable Transport Systems.
