Petru Niga

Petru Niga is a Project Manager and a Researcher at RISE. His role is to initiate and manage projects with industry and public funding organizations within life science and material development.

Area of expertise:
- Formulation of foams, emulsions, inks and dry formulation technologies.
- Functionalization of nanomaterials, surfaces and porous materials
- Antibacterial and antiviral coatings
- Impregnation of bio-based antibacterial/antifungal ingredients in textiles and wood
- Encapsulation and control release of poorly soluble active ingredients
- Substitution of unwanted ingredients from inks, paints and cosmetic products
- Use of liquid and super critical CO2 as a platform for impregnation, loading, extraction, and coating of materials
- Solubility improvement by using enhancing additives and solvent mixtures (HSPiP)
- Production of highly porous polymeric fine particles
