Sten Farre is Senior R&D Engineer working in the unit Cast Components at the departement Manufacturing. Optimisation of cast components and processes is the focus areas in this unit. Mr Farre is working hours-on-demand, mainly within cast steel components and cast iron components. Following the the state of art about AM, 3D sand printing (3DSP). Assignments of prototype manufacturing of cast components. Presenter at the educations; Design of cast components, Casting simulation and methoding of cast components and Technical condistions of delivery.
He is active in the Program Office at Metallic Materials as project adviser and support.
Mr Farre is a metallurgist engineer and has a business degree in marketing. Experienced from an industrial route of steel-, foundry- and wire manufacturing. For more than 45 years the work emphased process optimisation and technical sales before he joined the present RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in 2011.
