Contact AndreasTorrential rain can have devastating consequences in an asphalted urban environment in which water has limited opportunity to drain away. A heat wave can create heat stress among vulnerable groups in cities where buildings store and radiate heat. In coastal communities, a rise in sea levels will result in large areas becoming submerged. Climate change can affect drinking water and soil stability, and will affect individuals, businesses and the public sector. Society needs to adapt and requires new solutions to meet the challenges.
RISE’s offer spans from creating solutions for increasing a city’s storm water infiltration capacity to developing policies that support integrated climate adaptation efforts. We work both at a comprehensive level with, for example, ecosystem services in urban planning, and at a detailed level through concepts such as quality assurance of materials and methods to address new conditions. We use the latest technology in visualisation, modelling and AI in order to find the best solutions.
