The ongoing digitalization means that more and more people in the labor market need to be able to manage and develop code. The development has been fast and there are a plethora of new tools that help you write, document, and test your code. The tools need to be integrated into a workflow that promotes code that is easy to expand, maintain, and collaborate around. In RISE’s bootcamp in code development, you will learn just this. RISE experts have extensive experience in industry standards in software development and drive development in AI and data analysis. Together with them, you will have the opportunity to take part in the latest in proven methods and tools.
RISE’s bootcamp in code development covers several topics that are critical to know for anyone who develops code or analyzes data. We go through how you use Git for version control, especially when you work with a team. We also focus on good practice in software testing, writing documentation, developing modular code, and understanding licensing. These skills help you create software that is easy to maintain, reuse, and share - what we call FAIR software.
This is a practical training program that suits you who already write some kind of code - in any programming language - either everyday or just sometimes. You will gain a deeper understanding of the most important concepts behind good software practice, learn to effectively use modern programming tools, and develop your ability to handle complex projects more time-efficiently and reliably.
Our bootcamp is conducted digitally. The training is expected to take about 40 hours including exercises, of which 20 hours are intended for structured teaching and the rest is independent work.
