Contact ViktoriaAt this seminar, we talk about the critical role of measurement technology in the development of automated vehicles and transport.
In order for autonomous vehicles to be able to navigate safely and efficiently, measurement data about the outside world is needed that can be trusted, for example through radar, lidar, ultrasound or cameras, and systems that can interpret the information from these sensors correctly. Precision measurement technology is also needed for positioning, for example through global navigation systems such as GPS, which in turn requires accurate time synchronization. Automated vehicles and transportation also rely on wireless communication to exchange information with each other and with the infrastructure. Here, we use measurement technology to ensure that communication is fast, reliable and secure. In short, metrology is central to all aspects of the development of automated vehicles and transport.
