Contact EvaBuilding physics is the science of heat, air and moisture transport in buildings. RISE conducts research, collaborates and educates in basic and applied building physics, primarily concerning heat and moisture transport and air flow in building parts and buildings. RISE evaluates structures such as exterior walls, windows and ceilings, but also foundations and their connections to meet requirements for, among other things, moisture safety, energy use, comfort and healthy indoor environment.
Design of buildings and building envelopes, with regard to durability, energy efficiency, moisture safety and indoor comfort is ensured by testing of building materials and systems properties', calculations and monitoring.
RISE conduct research on and evaluates building materials, building components and entire buildings. Evaluations are carried out with regard to heat insulation capacity, moisture safety, air tightness, thermal comfort, air quality and other aspects that affect the indoor environment, energy use and durability.
Quality assurance of, for example, windows and doors, the interior environment of entire buildings, or of the construction process, is a frequent assignment we perform for our clients. An important element to our business is the moisture damage and indoor air quality investigation activities that provide input to our research activities.
RISE research and development activities are in the fields of moisture-safe buildings, indoor environment and health, microbiology, airtight construction and energy-efficient buildings.
We collaborate with several universities and colleges and are part of the Swedish Moisture Research Centre (FuktCentrum) together with LTH, KTH and Chalmers University of Technology.
