Building systems in Timber

The development of modern timber construction has meant that today there are several, on the market, established building systems. These building systems involve different technical solutions but also partly different business models.

Within RISE, we have worked with the development of a number of these building systems and work continuously to support the industry in the development of these through calculation, testing and evaluation. The most common systems are based on:

Industrially built stud and rail systems
Column-beam frame in glulam using trusses
Planar elements based on CLT or LVL

Our experts can help with many different types of issues at all stages of the construction process and for all types of actors. Examples of our business can be supporting property owners with knowledge and training before starting to build with wood. In other cases, we can support wooden house manufacturers with testing / calculation to improve the technical performance of the building systems, such as how to best meet acoustics or fire requirements.
