Contact AnnaPaper and paper-based packaging are produced from renewable raw material which can be recycled and reused. Over 50 % of the paper and packaging produced in Europe use recycled fibre as raw material and the rate will most likely increase in the future. RISE offer our expertise to improve and develop recycled fibre-based products.
New fibre-based products, e.g. to replace plastics, and the increased recycling rates present a challenge as the fibres will be used more times and the non-fibre content in the packaging probably will increase.
By taking a holistic view on recycled fibre, strategies to optimize the raw material potential and meet the demands on the final product can be developed. Design of new fiber-based products is not only a challenge for the fibre material but for the whole papermaking process. By looking at all parts of the process, fibre treatment, process water quality, strength additives and paper chemistry, can increased product quality, lower chemical cost and better energy efficiency be achieved.
RISE have the equipment, competence and knowledge required to analyse and develop recycled fibre-based products from the initial lab study and pilot paper production to assist at full scale trials and implementation in the paper mill.
With our expertise within measurement and analysis technology, pulp characterization, low consistency refining, screening and fractionation we can develop the strength potential of the recycled fibre and together with advanced paper chemistry optimise the product properties of the produced paper and packaging.
Within RISE, we also have the competences needed to test the recyclability and perform environmental analysis so that products can be designed to be sustainable and fully recyclable.
