Sheet metal forming and lightweight component manufacturing

Sheet metal forming is a competitive manufacturing method for many products. RISE is collaborating with industry in research and development with focus on the application, for example by analysing the process, the material properties, or the tribological system.

You can get support in your development in all areas, from product to process. Examples on research areas and possible assignments:

Introduction of new materials, fine tuning of the formning process
Materials analysis and formability testing, at RT and at higher temperatures
FE-analysis of the forming process and the press
Modelling and control of hot forming processes

Our multi-disciplinary team includes competences in several aspects of sheet metal forming R&D such as modelling, tribology, materials science, and process development, including tool design. Our testbed in Olofström is open to be used by customers both on site and by participating at-a-distance, with high data security.
