A specific purpose is to show how operating models and working methods for municipalities and civil society in cooperation can do the job.
The overarching aim is to contribute to a transformation of the Swedish housing and community building sectors, to take greater account of people's varying needs and democratic participation. A specific purpose is to show how operating models and working methods for municipalities and civil society in collaboration can contribute to fulfilling the goal in relation to the living environment. The purpose is achieved through
1. mapping of people's needs and life dreams,
2. design and investigation of alternative spatial structures and living environments, and
3. development of operating models and working methods for municipalities and civil society i cooperation.
The project answers the research questions through three case studies in the region of Västra Götaland (Northeast Gothenburg, Mariestad, Bottna) with a variety of geographical and cultural conditions. Based on local and regional needs, and investigation of alternative living environments, proposals for operating models and working methods are developed for local administrations and civil society organizations, which take into account various aspects of citizen democracy.
Through partnership between civil society organizations and researchers, dialogue with residents, and participation from the municipality, regional and state interests, the project has the potential to develop new, integrated solutions.
