REDIG
The project goal is to propose a common direction for a fossil-free and sustainable, digitised and open goods handling system that meets the future needs for the development of the event area in Gothenburg. This project is a part of Gothenburg Green City Zone.
The project will analyze the event area's current and future freight transports and thereby gain an understanding of the type of freight, delivery points, freight volumes, vehicle movements, supplier structure and other influencing factors such as planned infrastructure projects that will lay the foundation for a future logistics solution. The project will also develop design principles for a first major logistics hub and list requirements for the digital platform and infrastructure for data sharing within the transport chain to ensure the possibility of efficient coordination. Presented logistics solutions are also evaluated to ensure potential for an efficient inflow and outflow of goods from the perspective of goods recipients and consignors, potential business models and potential for feasibility. The project will lead to a proposed common direction for a long-term fossil-free and sustainable digitized goods handling for the actors in this area. The project is also expected to lead to a pilot project where the proposed logistics solution is tested.
