Simulation and Verification of Wireless Technologies

Wireless technologies in vehicles are becoming increasingly important for safety, traffic efficiency, and entertainment features. In SIVERT 2, the goal is to develop validation methods - simulations and testing methods for complete vehicles - for 5G mobile communication and for direct communication between vehicles and infrastructure.

Wireless technology in vehicles, often located in a telematics and connectivity unit (Telematics Control Unit (TCU)) that uses integrated or external antennas, is becoming increasingly important for safety, traffic efficiency, and entertainment features. The standards of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) have been developed, now defined as 5G. At the same time, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) or vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) technologies, which use different standards, have continued to gain market attention. Therefore, there is a need to investigate the applicability of the simulation and verification methods developed within SIVERT, even for these emerging technologies that may be part of future TCUs.
