In a future system, recycled materials will be used by several different industrial sectors and actors. Some of these are the construction, automotive, textile, furniture and packaging industries, which can utilize the recycled materials, but all having their own requirements specifications and needs regarding the raw material. Today, there are no systems for quality assurance, specification, nor validation of recycled materials.
The first step is an industry analysis to highlight specific needs for requirements and validation for diverse material categories. Based on these, a uniform overall methodology is developed for specification and validation of circulated material and components (excluding electronic components). Specifically adapted procedures are then developed for validation of diverse material categories through parallel sub-projects (tasks). Within these, case studies are also carried out to produce demonstration examples regarding specification and validation possibilities.
The project is carried out in work packages that run sequentially WP1-WP2-WP3 and where results from a previous work package are used as input to a later one. At the same time, they run partly in parallel to enable a feedback and learning structure.
