Contact MagnusDo you need CE marking and declaration of performance under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR)?With CE marking and declaration of performance, manufacturers of construction products can sell and gain market access in Sweden and other EU/EEA countries, Switzerland and Turkey. CE marking enables free trade throughout the European market.
There are two routes to CE marking of construction products, mandatory and voluntary CE marking. The aim is to declare the performance of construction products in a harmonized way, thereby removing technical barriers to trade and enabling free trade and comparison of products and their characteristics.
RISE is a Notified Body and Technical Assessment Body (TAB) and works with CE marking and declaration of performance according to Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of March 9, 2011 (Construction Products Regulation or CPR).
As a Notified Body, RISE is authorized to provide the various services a manufacturer needs to be able to CE mark and declare its product. When a construction product is covered by the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and a harmonized standard (hEN) or a European Technical Assessment (ETA) for the product, it is mandatory to CE mark and declare the performance of the product. Here it is important to emphasize that CE marking is a legal requirement.
If you as a manufacturer want to market and sell a construction product covered by a harmonized standard in Sweden and other countries in the EU/EEA, Switzerland and Turkey, the product must be CE marked and performance declared.
RISE certifies, takes samples, tests and performs inspection of the manufacturing plant and production control in the factory.
RISE is designated by the Swedish government as a body authorized to issue ETAs (European Technical Assessments). It is voluntary and can be applied to all construction products not covered by a harmonized standard. With an ETA you can CE mark and declare the performance of your product.
If you as a manufacturer want to market and sell your product in the EU/EEA, Switzerland and Turkey, you can apply for an ETA.
The ETA is a voluntary scheme for products, assembled products and construction systems where a harmonized standard is missing, does not cover all relevant characteristics or cannot be used.
An ETA is a technical specification and describes the product's characteristics, intended use, manufacturing sites and production control.
ETAs are issued by a designated Technical Assessment Body (TAB). RISE is a designated body with authority to issue ETAs and is Sweden's representative in the European Organisation for Technical Assessment (EOTA).
An ETA is established on the basis of a European Assessment Document (EAD). An EAD covers all the characteristics that can be declared for the product type in question. If an EAD does not already exist, covering the characteristics of the product and its intended use, RISE can develop it in the context of an assignment and application for an ETA.
The issued ETA states which services you as a manufacturer need from a Notified Body to be able to CE mark and declare the performance of your product. As a Notified Body, RISE provides these services. RISE certifies, tests and performs inspection of the manufacturing facility and manufacturing control in the factory.
