Contact JohannaRISE offers a wide range of services in the area of environmental durability. We have services that support the work during the development process as well as during the last qualification of a product to ensure the correct durability.
Environmental durability is a concept relevant to many industries and products and it is wise to include the necessary durability requirements early in the development process. By performing validation tests at the right stage, a good quality of the final product can be ensured and costs associated with defects caused by defects are minimized. RISE can help to create these test environments by offering most of the established environmental durability tests.
With its unique technological width, RISE can offer complete solutions packages with support during several phases during the product development process and
in most technology areas. From our many years of work within the field, the customer can benefit from our experience when performing tests with us. Not least through the possibility of gathering several different sub-tests during more extensive testing with RISE as the single supplier of the results. Resources at the customer are then freed up, which would otherwise be spent coordinating and managing the tests that instead will be handled by RISE.
Mechanical Environmental Durability -Vibration Testing
We vibrate anything, from objects to be transported by road, equipment that is fixed in vehicles to parts of vehicles that are going into space. Large, heavy objects around a ton are tested as well as smaller ones that weigh only a few grams. We can test at frequency ranges from a few Hertz up to 2000 Hertz.
Mechanical Environmental Durability -Shock
Shock testing is used to ensure that a product can withstand a crash in vehicles, transport requirements or normal use where it should be possible to drop the product into the ground while its function should be maintained. Often this type of test is done at the same time as a vibration test.
Climatic Environmental Durability
Omgivande temperatur och fukt utgör en ständig risk för att påverka funktionen hos en produkt. RISE har ett flertal klimatkammare som klarar såväl låga som höga temperaturer och med cykling mellan dessa. I flera av kamrarna finns möjlighet att köra i kombination med fukt.
Ambient temperature and moisture present a constant risk of affecting a products function. RISE has several climate chambers that operates at low and high temperatures and with cycling between these temperatures. In several of the chambers it is possible to run temperature in combination with controlled moisture.
Combined Mechanical and Climatic Environmental Durability
When objects have structural parts of e.g. plastic, it is very important to do combined testing. This is because plastics change their mechanical properties with temperature and / or moisture. RISE has equipment that simulates mechanical stress (vibration, shock) together with simultaneous heat / cooling.
Complex Environmental Durability Testing
It is often insufficient for a product to be tested without being in operation. This means stricter requirements regarding how the test is performed in order for the test to be relevant. RISE has the equipment and ability to build test setups for more complex tests eg. vibration in climate with function monitoring and data logging while the test is run with simultaneous pressure cycling.
Other Environmental Durability Testing at RISE
Often results are communicated on an ongoing basis during a test. Sometimes the customer participates during the acctual testing. After a completed test, the results are usually socumented in a technical report. Most of the reports we issue are accredited. The report can, for example, provide the basis for further CE marking.
