Validation of cleaning and disinfection of medical devices
In the Instruction for Users (IFU) supplied with reusable medical devices, validated instructions for cleaning and disinfection must be included. We can assist you in developing the instructions according to ISO 17664-1/2 and validate that the instructions results in clean products.
Purpose
Contribute to healthcare safety by having clear and validated instructions for cleaning and disinfection.
Fulfill requirements in MDR.
Method
The cleaning procedure is validated by contaminating the product with blood or artificial test soil, then cleaning it following the instructions, using the worst-case scenarios. This is followed by an analysis of any residual soil, through protein and/or hemoglobin analysis, as outlined in ISO 15883-5 (MDR) and ANSI/AAMI ST98 (FDR).
Automated (thermal) disinfection can be validated using multiple temperature probes to ensure that the product achieves a specific A0-value, in accordance with ISO 15883-1.

Deliveries
Methods and results are presented in a written report.
