StratEx – flexible sheet former in semi pilot scale
StratEx (Stratified Forming Explorer) is a semi pilot scale sheet former for multi-layer structures. It bridges the gap between laboratory sheet forming and pilot scale investigations within the pulp, paper and packaging sector.
The semi-pilot sheet former StratEx can form up to 10 m of paper per run, single- or double-sided dewatering. Both single-ply and multi-ply sheet structures can be formed.
StratEX trials are batch processes with a production time of 15 and 20 min/per batch depending on grammage.
An extensive trial program at StratEx can be run on small quantities of pulp and chemicals. This opens for tests of experimental or speciality products where availability can be a concern.
Quick adjustments with high flexibility can easily be performed at StratEx at a lower scale (kilogram), before larger pilot trials can be made in process-like conditions at FEX – our full-scale pilot machine.
