Alina holds a PhD title in Political Sciences from the European University Institute and has a strong professional background in digital, human-centric, innovation, open government, open data and public participation.
At RISE, Alina is different projects, all related to democratic elements such as civic participation, co-creation, transparency and accountability.
In addition to Alina's academic expertise, she has over 20 years of experience as evaluator and expert providing support and advice to international and civil society organisations (European Commission, Council of Europe, UNDP, Open Government Partnership, Transparency International).
Alina has been heading a Swedish civil society organisation between 2020-2024) Open Knowledge Sweden, which is active in the field of data and democracy, and relies of a network of over 40 branches worldwide (https://okfn.org/).
Alina is also representing Sweden as a Member of Management Committee of two COST Actions: (1) Multidisciplinary innovation for social change: SHIINE (https://socialchangelab.eu/) (2) Intergovernmental Coordination from Local to European Governance” (IGCOORD) (https://igcoord.eu/). She is also involved in several other COST action. COST stands for European Cooperation in Science and Technology and is an academic networking tool funded by the EU.
