I am working in projects aiming to develop sustainable, economic and energy efficient processes for biorefineries and conventional pulp and paper production, both as a research engineer and project manager. My main contribution to the projects involves process simulations and techno-economic evaluations. The projects are a mix of client-based and publicly funded as well as they are a mix of basic and applied research. The topics of the projects I take part of typically, but not exclusively, relates to: --> Water, chemicals and energy reductions in kraft pulp mills --> Trouble-shooting and optimisation of processes for kraft pulp mills --> Evaluations of standalone and/or integrated novel biorefinery processes e.g. lignin extraction, biofuel production, textile recycling/production, biobased materials and chemicals etc. in an iterative approach to lift early stage experimental results to higher TRLs
