I earned the M.Sc. degree in engineering physics and the Ph.D. degree in solid state physics with major in low dimensional transport physics from Lund University, Lund, Sweden, in 1991 and 1996, respectively.
As postdoctoral researcher at Riken in Japan I changed track to study growth of nitride semiconductor quantum dot structures for applications in blue lasers.
Back in Sweden I joined ADC-Altitun developing tunable lasers for the telecommunications industry. After a few years he moved to the U.S. and joined Nippon EMC (part of Taiyo Nippon Sanso) in marketing and sales of customized MOCVD equipment.
When Lars Samuelson in Lund got funding to realize Lund Nano Lab I contributed to that effort and became the first lab manager and participated in the work to affiliate the lab with the Myfab network.
Later I joined TSMC at IMEC in Belgium in a research project that included the development, growth, and characterization of semiconductor nanowire heterostructures and dielectrics for tunneling field effect transistors.
Since 2019 I hold a position as senior expert at RISE with the focus on growth and processing of nitride semiconductor-based nanostructures.
