- Carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and utilization: Aqueous amines, supported ionic liquid phase (SILP) material, linear, cyclic and polycarbonates etc.
- Chemical catalysis: Heterogeneous catalysis (supported mixed metal oxides and zeolites), homogeneous catalysis (organometallics, acidic and basic ionic liquids) and catalytic processing of biopolymers for chemicals synthesis.
- Solvent development: Ionic liquids, deep eutectics (DES), bio-renewable and binary solvents for extractions and catalysis.
