I employ an endogenous analytical lens to characterise challenges within complex social-ecological systems. I draw from multiple sources of knowledge to develop improved understanding of causes and consequences of system behaviours over time, using modelling tools quantify and simulate these. This allows for the testing of new policies and practices that can lead to sustainable resource use while avoiding unintended negative outcomes.
