Simon Jonasson

<p>I have expertise in materials made from biobased resources, such as cellulose, lignin and chitin. Most recently I worked with foams for packaging materials in different scale and technology where all steps from composition to improving final properties were daily activies. Currently I work with barriers for packaging materials which include formulation, application (of coating) and evaluation, of barrier performance. Central aspects of my work pertains to replacing plastics with biobased alternatives with all associated opportunities and challenges.</p>

<p>I have a PhD in Materials science from Luleå University of Technology with a focus area on isolation of nanocelluloses and paper-like sheet manufacturing/characterization. Additionally I have a Materials Chemistry M.Sc from Chalmers University of Technology with a focus area of cellulose-based emulsions.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
