In the drive toward a more sustainable future, we are thrilled to share insights on recent advances in the sustainable production, graphene based printed electronics through innovative battery waste recycling and extraction of graphite. Graphite is a critical raw material which is currently extracted from unsustainable mining. Graphene is a game-changer for many industries, from electronics to renewable energy, but producing it sustainably remains key to achieving a circular economy.
Through advanced processes, we’re working on graphite extraction from waste batteries, which not only recovers valuable resources but also reduces environmental impact. By transforming what was once waste into essential materials, we are contributing to cleaner, more efficient production cycles.
The research is being carried out in Bat2Graph project with funding from Swedish Energy Agency, in collaboration with Chalmers Industriteknik (https://chalmersindustriteknik.se/), Tenutec AB (https://www.tenutec.com/) and Swerim AB (https://www.swerim.se/).
Harnessing these technologies to close the loop on battery production and disposal can make a significant difference. Let’s keep pushing for a sustainable, innovative approach that will power the future of electronics and beyond.
